The most common question we get on the first call is: where do I start? Not because the business doesn't have processes to automate, there are usually several. The problem is they all seem important at the same time, and it's not clear which gives the best result with the least implementation effort.
The best starting point is almost always the process that hurts most. Not the most complicated or most visible, but the one that generates the most friction for the team or brings the most customer complaints. That process already has internal urgency, which makes adoption easier: the team wants it to change.
A way to identify it: ask your team what task takes up the most time in their week that could be done differently. The most frequent answers we hear are: answering the same WhatsApp questions over and over, copying data from one system to another, sending payment or appointment reminders, and generating reports that always say the same thing with different numbers.
Once you have the process identified, the next step is understanding which part is repetitive and which part requires human judgment. The repetitive parts are what get automated: frequently asked questions, the flow of a standard order, generating an invoice with already-captured data. The parts that require judgment are left to the team, but with better information for making decisions.
Automating a well-scoped process in a few weeks gives more results than a large project that takes a year. The team learns how it works, the business starts seeing the return, and the next process that gets automated has more context and less resistance.
